From the Pastor
John 13:1 Now before the festival of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
Steps of Jesus During Holy Week
Summary: Holy Week traces Jesus’ final, intentional steps—from his anointing in Bethany to his resurrection—revealing God’s love and purpose for the world.
As we enter Holy Week, the holiest time of our year, we follow Jesus through his final days—each step intentional, each moment filled with meaning.
On Saturday, Mary anoints Jesus in Bethany, a prophetic act of burial and coronation.
Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem as King.
On Monday, he clears the temple, declaring that true worship now flows from hearts enlivened by the Spirit.
Tuesday, he teaches and debates the religious leaders, proclaiming a shift in power and purpose.
Wednesday is quiet—Jesus remains in Bethany with his disciples, while Judas arranges the betrayal.
Thursday brings the Last Supper, the gift of Communion, and Jesus’ anguished prayer in Gethsemane.
After midnight, early Friday, Jesus is arrested, tried, and crucified. By sundown, he is buried.
On Saturday, all is silent—Jesus lies in the tomb.
But Sunday, the tomb is empty. Jesus is risen. Resurrection breaks through the silence with hope and new life.
Each day of Jesus’s last week reveals God’s heart: a God who walks with us, suffers for us, and rises to redeem us.
As you journey through this Holy Week, may the steps of Jesus draw you closer to the mystery, the love, and the power of God.
May God speak to you through Jesus’s steps during Holy Week,
Pastor Anny+
