Worship
Services
For Episcopalians, communion is the Church's central act of worship. Holy Eucharist is a service where we receive God's holy food and drink, and are empowered to live our daily lives in love and service.

Sunday Service
10:00 Holy Eucharist with Choir
The 10:00 service is our primary gathering. We project the service onto screens so you can follow along. There is music led by our choir, as well as nursery care and Sunday School for children under 10. Service is live streamed below.

At communion, the ushers direct the congregation in forming two lines. If you would like to receive a blessing instead of communion, please tell an usher and they will help you get into the priest's line. Then, simply cross your arms over your chest and the priest will know what to do. If you prefer not to receive communion, you may remain in your seat, and no one will judge you.

Classes & Studies
Throughout the year, we hold various classes and studies. Whether it’s examining church architecture or analyzing the parables of Jesus, you’re sure to find a class that catches your interest and helps you explore important questions of faith. For a schedule of current classes and studies, see our bulletin or check our calendar.
Centering Prayer
Sometimes the most valuable thing you can add into your busy schedule is just sitting in silence. Centering prayer is a special service we hold on Monday evenings at 5:00 and Fridays at noon where you can do just that. Whether you have been practicing contemplation for a long time, or if you’re just curious about trying it, this is a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to encounter God in a moment of sacred quiet.
Beginning to Belong
Do you have questions about The Episcopal Church or why we do the things we do? Join us every 3rd Sunday at 11:30 for a Q&A session about Episcopal spirituality. If you'd like to submit a question anonymously or in advance, you can find the question box at the Welcome Counter.
Bible Studies
Year-round, the Rector hosts a Bible Study on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm.
Kids Sunday
The Episcopal Church is renowned for its inclusiveness, its liturgical richness, and its gentle insistence that all people, regardless of age, are vital to the life of the congregation. Kid’s Sunday underscores this ethos. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus—who welcomed children and declared that the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these—the day is an embodiment of hospitality and love. Children are not only the future of the church; they are, in a very real sense, its present.
Outreach
St. Augustine is engaged in both compassion-oriented Outreach ministries and justice-oriented Outreach ministries. They include not only how the church contributes financially to the ministries listed below but also how the church works side by side to understand root causes and help restore people into the community from the fringes and margins.
Below is a list of twelve of the Outreach ministries in which St. Augustine is engaged and a link to a recent Outreach Team meeting agenda where the leaders of these twelve areas meet monthly to share what is happening in their area and plans for the path forward. More details for any of these areas is available upon request. CLICK BELOW

The Invite & Engage Team has been formed to develop ideas for promoting the church within the surrounding communities, with a goal of increasing community awareness of St. Augustine and increasing the size of the congregation. The team has investigated placing door hangers on residential properties, placing signs or flags on the church property, placing directional signs near the church property, placing ads or articles in local publications (such as Gold Country Media and Style), and placing flyers at veterinarian office to encourage non-parishioner pet owners to attend the Blessing of the Animals service. Steve Mershon has been busy transitioning the Church to the Realm Enterprise Management tool, developing YouTube video capabilities, and the Website (WIX) to enhance collaboration, visual aesthetic and information access. Those of you who have ideas to promote the church should contact anyone from the Marketing Team. Below is a list of the members of the Marketing Team.
