Why does St. Augustine Church need this ministry?

This team acts as an extended family that gives supportive pastoral care to members of St. Augustine.

What do team members do?

  • Patient advocacy

  • Healing prayers

  • Home/hospital visits

  • Supportive telephone calls

  • Collaboration regarding meals needed

  • Coordination of cards to be sent

Suggested Skills:

  • Concern for others

  • A sense of service

  • The ability to keep confidences

  • A willingness to be accepting of others without judgment

  • Being accountable to the team

Time required:

  • Varies depending on the task

Will I work alone or as part of a team?

  • Sometimes alone and sometimes with the team

  • Team members always available for support
