From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Peter 2:2-3

Why does St. Augustine Church need this ministry?

The St. Augustine nursery ministry offers care for infants, toddlers and pre-kindergarten age children, while their parents attend our 10 a.m. service.  Our goal is to provide a feeling of comfort and security as the children are introduced to stories from the Bible and the love of Jesus.

 What do team members do?

  • Tell or read a Bible story to the children

  • Present activities such as games, projects, pretending

  • Encourage discussions

  • Supervise playtime

  • Promote sharing

  • Help children to relate to their peers

Suggested Skills:

  • Love of children

  • Patience and flexibility

Time required:

  • One hour on a Sunday morning; occasional meetings

  • Assignments vary; check schedule

Will I work alone or as part of a team?

  • Work as the teacher with an assistant

  • Schedule rotates
