Mission/Outreach
Leaders: Peggy Doyle

Outreach has a new name and a new outlook! Let me introduce you to our new Mission/Outreach Program.

The purpose of the Mission/Outreach Program is to promote, raise awareness and support the giftedness of our members who are responding to God’s call to love and support others in need both locally and globally. In order to achieve this goal we will specifically:

  • Provide support to individuals, organizations and ministries who meet the spiritual, physical and or emotional needs of our community and the world

  • Provide and encourage participation by St. Augustine members in community service, local mission/outreach projects and short-term mission projects around the world

  • Promote increased sacrificial giving in order to expand mission outreach

  • Educate and increase awareness of missions within St. Augustine

Our initial team members are; Bob Deering, Matt Diaz, Rick Lovin, Jerry Harner, Ken Cichocki, Jack Dillon, Rich & Rhonda Wampler, Jim & Stephanie Tilton and Jim Quinney. We will be meeting every third Wednesday of each month.

Initially you will notice a few new things especially how we raise money to support all our ministries. We will have one major fundraising event in the spring each year. We will also use the Christmas and Easter offerings and they have a spiritual program leading up to these special offerings. The idea is to reduce the amount of monthly and sometimes weekly request for donations.

We also hope you will bring us your ideas or current ministries that could use some help financially or in other ways. Our goal is to help you find your mission, your ministry or help you make your mission grow. We have a grant application process and you may download the form from the website.        Click here to access the Grant Application Form

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me.                                                                                                                                                                                         Matthew 25:35-36

The question “What does God Expect of Us?” is the driving force for outreach activities at St. Augustine. We strive for and seek justice in our community and throughout the world. We are blessed beyond measure with great abundance and we are called to share our resources and the love of Christ to everyone.
