The Lord bless you  and keep you;  the Lord make his face shine on you  and be gracious to you;  the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace....

Why does St. Augustine Church need this ministry?

This ministry provides the members of our parish family who are not able to be present at the weekly Sunday celebration an opportunity to receive the Holy Eucharist directly from that service.

What do team members do?

  • Present the Eucharist to parishioners who are homebound or not physically able to attend the Church service

  • Offer the Eucharist to parishioners in the hospital or a care facility

Suggested skills:

  • Sensitivity to what is appropriate

  • Feeling comfortable spending time with people in various stages of health

  • Concern for others and a sense of service

  • Willingness to accept others without being judgmental

Time Required:

  • Visits are usually about 30 minutes, but sometimes it is hard to break away and the time may extend

  • Attendance in Church when assigned

  • Training time

Will I work alone, or as part of a team?

  • One person delivers the Eucharist; others on the team
