Why does St. Augustine Church need this ministry?

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. It is an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church. DOK members are dedicated to a prayer life for the spiritual growth of the parish and the clergy.

What do team members do?

  • Pray for the clergy of our parish and all members of the congregation

  • Provide prayer support and aid to the clergy

  • Regularly take part in the worship, study and work of the Church

  • Participate in regular study groups

  • Commit to service projects

Suggested Skills:

  • Commitment to prayer and study

  • Ability to participate in service projects

Time required:

  • One regular meeting a month (usually the second Sunday of the month after the 10 a.m. Church service)

  • Various time commitments to service projects

  • Regular prayer each day

Will I work alone or as part of a team?

  • Work as a team

  • Pledge to an individual life of prayer
